Billie Eilish has talked frankly about how social media trolling is ruining her life and how she’s quit the internet during an interview on BBC Breakfast.

The Bad Guys singer spoke candidly about how nasty social media users have stopped her from interacting with her fans and how she stopped using platforms to engage with them only two days ago.

‘I stopped reading comments full because it was ruining my life,’ Billie said as she sat alongside her brother Finneas, who co-wrote her Bond track No Time To Die.

‘It’s weird, the cooler things you get to do, the more people hate you. It’s crazy.’

‘What do we do about that, how do we make it better?’ asked interviewer Louise Minchin.

‘I don’t know dude,’ Billie replied. ‘Cancel culture is crazy. The internet is just a bunch of trolls. A problem is that a lot of it is really funny. I think that’s the issue, I think that’s why nobody really stops.

‘Also, I would say that it’s anything for a joke. You’d say anything to make people laugh. I’ve experienced that. Growing up, I’d say things that people would laugh at and then later I’d realise that wasn’t cool to say.’

Billie continued: ‘It’s worse, it’s way worse than it’s ever been. It’s insane that I’ve even been reading comments up until this point.

‘I should have stopped long ago. The problem is that I’ve wanted to stay in touch with the fans and keep talking to them, but people have ruined that for me.

‘The internet is ruining my life so I stay off.’

Billie Eilish and Alicia Keys are taking their mutual love to a whole other level.

On December 9, when Alicia was filling in for James Corden on The Late Late Show, the two singers performed a stripped-down rendition of Billie’s breakthrough hit “ocean eyes.”

“We need some dramatic lighting,” Alicia said before unveiling her piano and kicking off the song. The duet version featured Alicia on the piano (sorry, Finneas!) and mixed both singers’ honeyed vocals to perfection, making it the collab we never knew we needed.

Back in August, Alicia posted a piano cover of the song to her IGTV. “Billie Eilish giving me all the feels … Keep shining mama, writing that truth,” she wrote back then. “I’m a super, super fan of yours — I love how you write, I love your music,” Alicia told Billie on the show.

And it turns out, the love was very much reciprocal. “I have adored you my whole life,” Billie told Alicia before sharing a throwback clip of her 12-year-old self covering Alicia’s 2001 hit “Fallin’” — also at her piano. To further commemorate the occasion, Billie also posted a few of the snippets from their respective covers on her Instagram, writing, “CRAAAAZY full circle moment… love you so much @aliciakeys thank you for everything you are, can’t believe any of this happened. you in my heart forevaaaaa.”

“You got one for me and I got one for you. We’re going to do the next one soon,” Alicia told Billie after watching the adorable clip. And you can bet we’ll take her up on that one.

(CNN) Don’t shame people who don’t know Van Halen.

That’s the message straight from Eddie Van Halen’s son.
Wolfgang Van Halen, who also plays bass in his dad’s band, is taking up for current music phenom Billie Eilish.
Eilish, 17, caused a stir recently during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
Kimmel asked her to name some members of the famed band.
“Who?,” she said. “No, who is that?”
“I’m gonna start crying,” Kimmel joked.
The internet also had feelings.
“Billie Eilish didn’t know who Van Halen was, I’m sobbing,” one person jokingly tweeted.
The younger Van Halen tweeted about it Monday and he’s not bothered.
“If you haven’t heard of @billieeilish, go check her out. She’s cool,” he tweeted. “If you haven’t heard of @VanHalen, go check them out. They’re cool too.”
Van Halen, 28, added “Music is supposed to bring us together, not divide us. Listen to what you want and don’t shame others for not knowing what you like.”
For the record, Eilish also didn’t know who Huey Lewis and Run DMC are, what a Cabbage Patch doll is or what you should never do to a Mogwai after midnight (unless you want it to turn into a gremlin).
